The
Tutorial Submission Forum serves as a place for you to share your knowledge, impress others and, of course, earn valuable reputation bonuses. You can also submit your tutorials here if you want them to be considered for addition to the BioRUST main pages. If you are after this goal, however, you should bear in mind the following points:
- First and foremost, we will only publish tutorials which you own, and which feature techniques or effects not already featured in other tutorials on BioRUST. We go to great lengths to ensure that the content you submit is original and not ripped from elsewhere, so please be honest!
- We are happy to publish tutorials on any of the subjects for which we have a section. If you want to start a new section, we will be happy to support you, but ask that you get a minimum of 6 tutorials for that application before we will open it. This isn't greedy - its just to ensure that our sections are full of juicy content and not just inhabited by a couple of lonely tutorials!
- Authors will retain the copyright of their work but we do ask that you share your tutorial with us and no other graphics sites (this excludes your own webpages, of course). By submitting a tutorial to BioRUST you are giving us a license to liberally use the tutorial and alter the language/techniques as we see fit.
- BioRUST will never use your tutorial for commercial reasons without your written consent, other than for advertising revenue on BioRUST.com. No compensation is provided for the publication of a submitted tutorial other than the chance to share your knowledge or experience with others. We aren't exactly raking in profit from you either - the advertising barely pays for the server, nevermind the forum licenses that it all runs on!
- Tutorials at BioRUST do not have a maximum/minimum word count, but we do ask that they are of sufficient size to justify opening them. The bigger and more detailed the tutorial, however, the greater the reputation bonus that will be given if your tutorial is accepted to the main pages. Generally speaking, average-sized tutorials get a +10 rep boost, large ones get +20... and it keeps going from there...
- In addition to new tutorials, we also accept translations of our tutorials into other common languages. We give a +5 rep boost per tutorial translated, but ask that the translation is done by a HUMAN, not by any translation software. Just keep the steps and images the same and we'll have no problem slotting your translation into our system. If you have any problems or concerns, just ask Bana how he does his French translations!
Tutorials may be submitted either in the
Tutorial Submission Forum, over in the appropriate
user-submitted tutorials categories of the
wiki, or by sending an e-mail containing a .zip archive with the text of the tutorial together with the images to
Man1c-M0g. If you are submitting a purely text-based tutorial, please indicate the suggested positioning of the images with the use of bracketed filenames - i.e. [image1.jpg], etc. All further questions can be asked in this thread, and answers will be provided as soon as possible...
