Thumbs up TUT - A Quick Sunset

I noticed that one of the tutorials requested was "Creating sunset effects from normal daytime photos". I wanted to do this with a couple of my own images the other day, and found quite a neat way of creating a dramatic effect with a Gradient Map. Anyhow, I've written it up as a tutorial here: http://www.waterden.net/tutorials/sunset.htm

Although I've been using Photoshop for some time, this is the first tutorial I've written so I hope you won't be too hard on me!

Its well explained and surprisingly simple too - other tutorials i've seen on this effect have involved many more steps with inferior results! I'll add it to my 'to-do' list, meaning that you SHOULD see it on the BioRUST main pages this weekend. Thankies!

Well, i'll clarify the technique a little and make it more amienable to new users. I always do this with new tutorials. You'll then have no choice but to follow it perfectly...

Wow M0g, thanks! I'm honoured.

mikeydrumsticks: In what way did you fail miserably? Did the process not work, or was it that you weren't happy with the result? I did say that the effect relies a good deal on the original image, and you might have to do some further image manipulation to get exactly the result you want.

And the tutorial is now online over at: http://biorust.com/tutorials/detail/213/en/

Many thanks for the excellent tutorial Tamlin! You have a knack for explaining Photoshop concepts efficiently and with good english, meaning that apart from adding an introduction, I actually had to do very little editing in the main text of your tutorial itself.
