Attaching images to a tutorial

I'm new here and I'm about to submit a tutorial. How to I take pictures and attach it to the tutorial?

Save your text as a basic .TXT file and your images as .JPGs, preferably through the Save For Web option, and put it all in a .ZIP folder. M0g will set it up and make it look good.
The width of the tutorial window is 500px, so you'll be helping M0g if you size your images accordingly, beforehand, so he doesn't have to re-size them. Take a look at a few of the tuts already done and you'll get an idea of the ideal size.

Looking forward to seeing what you have to offer.

Oh, and...Welcome to BioRUST

Well, on the PC it is as simple as pressing the PrtScn button to copy the screen to the clipboard.... but I dunno about the MAC. Does it have a print-screen button?

The easiest way to take a screen shot on a mac:

Hold down Shift, Control, Apple(command) & press the 4 key (on top of the keyboard not on the number pad). That will give you a crosshair cursor that you can use to select any part of the screen. (once you get the cursor you don't need to hold down the keys any more, just press your mouse button and draw a selection box around what you need). This will copy the image into the clipboard so you can paste it into photoshop or wherever you need it.

You can do this same thing by only holding down shift & apple before pressing the 4 to create a PDF image of the screen capture (will save it to your desktop).

PM me if you need a better explanation, this sounds more confusing than it is.

Yeah, I just learned that an hour ago. Thanks, though. Anyway, how do I zip a file?

Well, any kind of compressible archive will do, but if you want to use a ZIP, then there are plenty of comparable MAC softwares out there that will let you do it. Here's one: http://www.maczipit.com/

Hi JoltZero!

Press down your right mouse button and choose "Make archive". It's 5th option. First select the file of course.
You don't need to download any softwares. You already have Stuffit on your Mac. It can also handle zip files and many others.
