This might work with later versions, but not with PS7 ( call me a dinosaur ). It's the same method as that used in Paint Shop Pro though.

It does say, right at the beginning of the tutorial:

IMPORTANT: Please note that this tutorial is designed for features present in Photoshop CS and later. It is doubtful any of the techniques mentioned here will work with earlier versions!
