I've been using levels for ages now to make corrections, without really understanding what the underlying principles were - thanks for an easily understood explanation.

Thanks for the tutorial

The tutorials offered at BioRust were why opted to register as a user. And your Understanding Levels tutorial is excellent! I've been using levels for a while but not really understanding what I was doing to the images (or what many of the buttons/sliders were for).
And I think I should re-read it about a dozen times to make sure I understand the advanced levels a bit better. Yeah, I have a slow learning curve. If it doesn't go in right away, it has to be pounded in.
Thank you so much. It's even helped me readjust a photo of a bed quilt, better than an expensive professional filter, where the white areas had turned to bluish tint.
