It all depends on the image I'm afraid. Low quality or unsuitable stock will give you naff results.

Sorry, but its not working for me. I am using photoshop cs3, with a high quality image. All it does is replace the color that was desated and replace it, its not any shinier, at least for me. And yes, I followed your instructions to the letter.

Any chance you can post the image you're working on?

As long as I can post a picture of a model in this forum without getting in trouble with the administrator then yes. Its nothing bad. How can I insert an image from my computer?

Well, I'm an Admin and as long as it isn't offensive or inappropriate, then it'll be OK - so artistic nudity is acceptable (although I might move these posts to a separate thread with a warning in the title) but pornography is not.

There are three ways you can include an image:
If your image is hosted somewhere on the web, you can either include a link to it (click on the Insert Link button - the Globe/chain link icon - in the editing toolbar) or embed it (click on the Insert Image button - the little picture icon). If the image is on your computer, you can attach it by clicking on the Attachments button (the paperclip icon).

If your image is large, however, we'd prefer if you didn't embed it.

Click the Reply button and then you'll see the Editing toolbar (see attachment). The paperclip icon is circled in red:

OK -I downloaded your image and played around with it a bit but I couldn't get a satisfactory result. That, however, was not due to any error in the tutorial but, as it says in the tut:
Quote:
Please note that this tutorial works by enhancing surface detail already present in stock images. If your source image is overly light, dark, or lacks decent color depth, the results will not come out as intended!
Although your image is of a reasonable quality, there is not enough surface detail in the highlight areas (which are almost blown out, especially on the model's leg) and not enough tonal variation in the rest of the skintones to make it a good subject for this particular tutorial. I tried to improve the image with some preliminary tweaking using the Shadow/Highlight adjustment tool, but to no avail.
As I said, I didn't have a great deal of time to experiment with this so if anyone else wants to give it a shot, fire away!
