Hmmm. You don't need any of those components really. Just Quicktime or an application which has the ability to move paused movies along by single frames. Try pausing in your existing Quicktime application and pressing the cursor keys...

But the thing is I can't view my avi files with quicktime so I have to download some components. Are there any other application which can view avi files and move by single frames?
Thanks

BSplayer supports most formats and seems to do a perfectly decent job!

Do you have to use imageready to do this? If so is there any way to get it free?

-Thanks

No, i'd imagine that you can do this tutorial using any graphics software that supports layers and animated .GIF output. Perhaps you may want to try Paint Shop Pro or Gimp?

just to let everyone know, theres a much easier whay to do it.

convert whatever video file you have into quicktime format and imageready opens the video up as frames. easy

Yahoo! My first animated avatar ever! It looks so perfect, but I want to put text on it. Is there a tutorial to put a text on the avatar?
