Awesome!!.. You did a wonderful job writing this tutorial. I think i've read all of the favicon tuts on Goodtutorials.com and pixel2life.com. About 2 out of 10 tuts would even tell you that you can also do it by putting it in a link tag. Not to mention that you provided a wonderful plugin that works directly with photoshop.

You should submit this to p2l and good tutorials! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the praise! And yes... I have already submitted the links to all the relevant tutorial sites. I think we may be seeing them accepted this weekend...

Great Tutorial.

I'll add. Lot's of people have mentioned to me that they were unaware this was possible. Mine is animated. Need Firefox or something other than IE to view it. My site is btusquad.net if you wish to view it.

I would like second everyone else's compliments with a resounding "Here Here!" (In my best English accent anyway)

I recently completed a contract where I was tod esign in excess of 172 icons ranging in size from 32x32 down to 8x8. WHAT A LEARNING EXPERIENCE! You can stress enough the importance to KEEP IT CLEAN AND SIMPLE! I am a big fan of the Glass and Metal effect...this is almost and utterly pointless when creating icons. You put in all of this time and effort to come up with original and professional looking icons only to watch your work emerge or "disolve" into this blob of pixelation.

Great tutorial that beats learnign like I did!
