For some reason after I apply the lighting effects everything around the bright circle in the middle is really dark. How would I fix this?

On step 3 grab one of the dots on the circle and make it larger than the image. (i wondered that too, so i fiddled with that, lol)

This was so simple! I've had a lot of fun playing around with this since reading this tutorial!

Okay, call me stupid, but my RENDER>LIGHTING EFFECTS option is grayed-out...and the color of my background is a muddy brown, even thoug it says 50% GRAY...ANY IDEAS? I'm on a Mac...

Check your image mode - some modes (e.g. CMYK) and/or bit-depths (e.g. 16-bit) don't support the Lighting Effects filter.

Thumbs up Waiting for this!

You have NO idea how long I've waited for a tutorial like this!!

I could have used it like a year ago when I was making the graphical interface of this application my boss has! Oh well, maybe a future revision of the application I'll try and re-design the look of it with brushed metal.
