Afraid not - it is an official filter only present in Photoshop CS and greater.

Well, you can make them via View > New Guide > Horizontal, and then move them with your mouse as needed...

I got all the way up to the animation part without any problems, but I got lost on how to do the animation, I tryed dragging one of the layers up and you can see the other one on the bottom, I think thats what you need to, but when I go to animate it it doesn't look right. Any help would be greatly apprehiated. Thanks

Edit: Nevermind I missed a step before animation, figured it out. Great tutorial!

Animated Fire

I need some help please.

I've got as far as "Layer via cut" but I can't seem to move either section above or below the cut line. The whole thing is moving. Can someone tell me if I'm missing something please.

Also, for some reason, when I duplicate a layer, it doesn't show on the main clipboard, it minimizes down to the right in the layers palette. Not a major problem but I just wondered why it does that. the first time I opened PS it didn't do it, but after accidentally shutting it down it's done it ever since.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Are you sure you got two seperate layers? If you do, make sure they aren't linked to eachother (little chain icon in the layer palette)

As for the duplicating problem, I'm not sure what you mean.

Me again

I finally figured out how to move the top and bottom layers but now I find I'm left with just one part, either the top or bottom. If you are online on msn can I add you to my contact list and see if we can sort it out there instead of filling this thread up with my problems.....

I am actually quite new to this forum and this is the first time on days that iv had some free time on my hands. So i decided to follow this (in my point of view) cool tutorial.

Previoulsy i have only been playing around i Photoshop (making basic signatures, and some loggos) so this is my very first animation. So bare with me would ya?

I am on part 8 (The animation part) where i am supose to
"and add a new frame at the end. Select the last frame and drag your layers up till one of the layers disappears from your canvas and the other shows up."

Heres my problem: I cant get the fire to go smoothly in a looping effekt.

I would truly apriciate some help in this matter asap.
Either contact me on msn (ozy1939@hotmail.com) or Reply so i can feed ya with some information, Ty
