I tried this tutorial and it totally didn't turn out. I dont know what was wrong but right from step one it was Black and Whitle unlike the colorful example. I still got a cool effect though in the end (It was sortof like mercury)

But thanks for the tutorial! It was fun to do!

came out black and white for me, looks cool though, if you run Hue/Saturation at the end maybe youll get the same effect as the tutorial.

I got messed up starting with step 3. It's all black and white after that, making the color adjustments pointless.

What could I possibly be missing?

I had problems too

I tried this several times with your directions following them to the letter. PErhaps you assume a level of proficiency that we don't have -- I've done that before. Maybe you could go through and see if you've skipped an important something that you thought we'd get. I love the end product you came up with and I'd really like to learn how to do it -- so please try again? Thanks so much for your tutorial!

There are a number of ways to do this in Photoshop, but the easiest is to use the dropdown menu in the Layers palette - see attached screenshot.

Please help: I followed the tut extremely carefully, repeated times, but I'm obviously doing something wrong, or missing something; I keep ending up with black and white images...it seems wrong, from the first illustration you used, as yours was multi-colored, and mine was only B&W at that stage (and remained that way, even after I colorized it in the Hue & Sat step...I'd love to know how to do this, but I'm stumped! Thanks for the tut, though, and more please! :-)

Aha! Color!

OOPS I see! It says draw as many swirls as you like "in many different colors"! *grin* I knew it was something I wasn't paying attention to! Hope this helps the others with the same problem. Thanks again!
