Thumbs down Energy Nova Tut

this tutorial simply doesn't work. period. you do not get the effect you claim. it's a crappy simplistic design without bite but something tells me you already knew that.

You apparently don't follow directions well. I use the tutorial and got exactly what was expected.

You have to remember that depending upon your window size, and how the original render takes place will have an effect on your final product.

Worked for me.

I tried it out, worked perfect, I changed my colors but still looks great. I've just downloaded a trial to photoshop and am trying to figure this out, that was a great tutorial and the end affect looks great thanks. I used a different window size than was recommended, but it still worked good for me, i used Width:400 Height:160.

this tutorial doesn't work exactly as claimed, step number eight in my opinion totally ruines the effect that you are trying to create however even without doing unsharpen mask you are still left with a grainy circle. I found that if you go to filter > noise > despekal it looks a little bit less grainy.

OK, a fair number of people have commented that this tutorial doesn't do exactly what it says on the box. I've taken these comments to heart and re-written some of the steps, clarifying the processes involved. The method itself isn't substantially altered, but hopefully it makes more sense now...

I'm not sure what you changed, but it worked great for me! Thanks for sharing it, it's a really neat tutorial.

It's been awhile since I've worked with Photoshop and this tutorial helped me get the intuition back. Thanks!

I just commented on a wp in the gallery which must have used this technique, and wondered how it was done. So glad I found this tut. I must go off and give it a try now. Thanks.

ETA: Worked a dream.
