Question

Hmm... I tried this tutorial and it worked fine, except when I made the actual color halftone dots, it had 4 different channels and I couldn't find a way to get rid of the chanels... any help? Thanks in advance!

(I'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements... I think it's 2.0, maybe the problem is my version is just old?)

You don't get rid of the channels. Each channel represents a certain aspect of your image (i.e. the red, green, blue, and alpha/transparency). If you got rid of them you wouldn't have an image left really! ;p Just leave them - most work you do will be in the LAYERS palette!

If someone had problem with colors in halftones, you need to change degrees.
45deg (in all channels) is for white (I think it's conceted with tanges fuction or something).
If you want to have more hols in your picture repeat color halftone effect until you will get what you want.

It works! ^^

Very adaptable method once learnt.

Again, no huge multi-complex tutorial, short sweet and with results.

Great stuff.

the image has to be in 8 bit/channel mode for this to work. you can't apply the filter in 16 or 32 bit. took me a while to figure that out otherwise - great, thanks!

You can get the same effect in adobe illustrator (cs3) by going to effect then the lower part of the dropdown box > pixelate > colour halftone and put anything in the degree box and zeros (0) in the remaining boxes for a black pattern.
