Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on my website, AlexStanford.com, which is still in the initial design phase.

Hi Alex!
Looks fine to me!
The first thing that hit me is the serif- font like Times new Roman, Garamond etc.
Don't look so well on the screen.
I think the sans-serif types are easier to read, as you probably know.
Are you going to center the whole page? Or will it be like now ?
Nice layout anyway!

Thank you for the thoughts and compliments.

The page will be centered.

I have created a new version using Arial, suprisingly enough, as a Sans-Serif alternative. Take a look and let me know what you think:

I think it's nice, and I like the serif version more, personally. I do think that the sans-serif font has a place, though, perhaps keep it in the reference quote you have? That way the fonts are broken up, and it still doesn't look as out of place.

I think the sans-serif has a softer appearance and therefore easier to read, they are also most used on the web, especially when it comes to long texts.
There are many discussions about this (and will always bee) in every web design forum.
The serif- font will of course always have it place on the web. Please have a look at this!

Looks really clean Alex!

I think the serif is better for the logo and headers, while the arial is better for the text (cleaner, more readable). So maybe use both!

Well keep it up, I really like the background
