I made a hair shader
This is probably the most powerful shader and rendering settings i have ever developed.
This is a render showing 10,000 nurbs curves, with a thickness of 0.1mm (same as human hair!) with an applied hair shader that i made. You would expect this type of model to crash any pc. Well i was able to get this baby to render in under a minute by using instancing even in best quality. the hair interacts with light so it changes colour in different brightnesses. Well tell me what you think of my shader.

10,000 nurbs? are you CRAZY? Now just turn it into a 3D mesh object, tesselate it, and let your PC run into a meltdown.
Nice piccie though - does it work equally as well for wispy and straight hair?

It works perfectly with all hair. I used instancing features so it is all running practically off the memory of one nurbs curve, this means it is very quick to render and it means i can have unlimited amount of curves.
