WIP Dropship
Here is my newest WIP, its a dropship for mecha type robots.
The scene it eventually will be part of involves the grassy fields, and my newest space station...

I hope you like it, and C&C is really welcome! As Im a bit stuck on the front and the rear....(yeah that's most of the ship)
Oh BTW, the image is pretty big, 4000 x 2000 at 300 dpi....(I did that for myself to examine the shaders)

Well I saw some transformer images on deviantart, and I decided to use that kind of lens system on the front of my dropship. I also finished up the engines, so I need to go texture it now......
But I still take comments  As I think that there is much room for improvement on this one.....
anyway here are some ambient occlusion shots of the "finished" model.

anyway, I was thinking about puttin it into the "grassy fields" scene, but my vue crashed down, and that scene is gone.....so I need to rebuild something similar...

I'm thinking the ship could use some windows (which you can texture on by the way) it can also use some lights, and probably some antenae for "communications" maybe small satelite dishes as well?
I know you have test shaders one right now, so I dunno if I'd say much about those at the moment, but you do need to scale the bump mapping down quite a bit, the size of your bumps right now make it feel almost like lego block size, and i'm assuming the ships are HUGE.
I think a scene of them in grassy fields would be awesome! the contrast of nice green grass on the white ships would look quite cool!
Keep it up, I'm excited to see more

Im still working on the basic shaders, but things are a bit messed up on my computer...
I do hope to get the shaders and textures done tonight...but maybe that's just a fools hope...

Well I haven't had much time since im in the middle of my exams,
But today i tried to get my shader right for the hull of my dropship, and I wanted to share it with you guys
So here it is, c&c is as always more than welcome

hey unleash,
the render is lookin pretty good, although I am bothered by how shiny the ship is, and how you cannot see the "plates" bolted down on the sides of the ship, if you know what I mean.
I can post up a couple examples of what I mean when I get home later on, I'm not on my work computer at the moment...

true! I haven't had the time to work on the bump though....its a bit messy at the moment
But do you know RF(RisingForce)? Its an MMORPG, now that hasn't got anything to do with this except for there robot race thing. I wanted to make the "underground" shader resemble there robot shader, but than more detail.
But I failed in that as you can see.....

oh hey that's cool, gimme a day or two, and I'll see if I can come up with a tutorial for that type of metal for you. or feel free to check out Highend3d for some free shaders sometimes they have some pretty good scripts and shaders to use for your personal projects, etc.

strange....it worked an hour or so ago, but now it doesn't.....very strange....woohooowooooohoooo (sorry had to  )
Thanks in advance for the help agentxi! Iva visited Highend3D already, got some shaders from there...but nothing seems to resemble that( read linked) shader...

You know what I like to do? bring up this really old post again
I have been busy again, and I would like to share it with you lot!
This is one of the two types of bots that are being dropped from the dropship. This mech should be compared to a tank or artillery. The idea is that its in a cylinder behind one of the three doors on each side. When dropped the door slides out with the cylinder, which is then dropped.
This is WIP, I only finished the lower body, but I want to finish the modeling somewhere tomorrow...
