That's pretty cool. When I first saw this, I was thinking more like a Battletech-type thing. Is this going to be a still picture or an animation?
And while we're here, check this out: YouTube - Mech Warrior: Age of Destruction

So I added the head and arms,
Things to do:
1. armor on the arms
2.antenna array
3.weapons
4.power source
And then I have to texture and render the thing So, I guess this is gonna take a while

awesome creation Unleash... its great to see creative design in 3D this is a good example... if you don't mind my asking... how much time do have in that so far?
you should make a really cool planet surface and starfield etc. for it to sit on when the model is complete for your beauty shot

thanks synthetic!
I think that I spend somewhere about 12 hours so far...
And yeah, that is the plan. I was thinking about a desert or something alike. With an battle raging on in the background. And dropships in the air

I would like to answer yes to that question!
But school has become a lot tougher these days. So I may be able to update in the weekend! Yeah, maybe I can finally finish that texture for the legs!

I'm hoping to get onto my own 3d projects shortly...
I can't wait to see some of your updates though.

Woohoo! Its weekend here. (to be honest, its 1.52am but it is still friday )
So after much coffee, I decided to try to do some texturing and modelling for my walker bot. So I got to texturing one leg and I got to adding the armor for the arms. To be honest, I dont really like the armor I made for the arms, so maybe that will change.
The textures for the legs, are pretty neat in my eyes and as they are my first "success-story" when it comes to texturing(Thanks Agentxi!) only constructive criticism and "hail unleash" please

Hail Unleash!
Maybe tweak the shader a little so it's not quite so shiny? It's starting to obscure the texturing.
Otherwise, rocks.

A very solid start man. I suggest 3 things. Texture map the specularity, Bring down the reflectivity, and texture the bump map. If you are rendering with mental ray, then go to the Shader attribute editor... go down to the Mental Ray section, and add a value to the Mi Reflection Blur, and tweak the blur limit and reflection rays until you are happy with the speed and look of the render. (don't forget to tweak those same options in your Global Renders)

alright... I am not the only late night owl on here
The model looks great... maybe just adjusting the lighting would help bring out the textures a bit better... looks like maybe they are getting too much light with the reflectiveness but other than that... impressive. Hail Unleash!
Would be neat to see it in action. Do you do much 3D animation? That's one of those things that always interests me but... just not enough time to tinker around with anymore. Still hoping to get back to C4D one day

Hehe, thanks! (I was joking about that hail stuff you know )
I am currently trying to reduce the overall lighting, and Im mapping the bump and spec values. I am also changing a bit about the mesh itself, as I think this brings out specific parts better.
At Synthetic: I have not yet tried to animate something. But maybe this will be my first

Update
Update!
I have been working on those textures all this afternoon (synthetic: its 21.23 pm here)
And this is what it is, I think it looks pretty good, so I will be going to do some other parts. But if you find something that should/ can be adjusted to make it look even better, let me know!
Well Hope you like them.
PS: If you find a flaw(I hide them for ya) just tell me will you Otherwise there wont be any progress.....

euhm, I know I asked this before, but I have totally forgotten the answer
My textures are moving around when I move the textured object. So that the textures aren't "right" any more. Now I think is has something to do with my UV-maps, as they are also moving....
Solution anyone?
