Biorust Vector Logo Design Competition

As biorust grows we will need a logo to show our presence in link exchanges and feature in all future designs. For an example of these logos in action, take a peek at http://www.decile.net or http://www.spoono.com and you'll quickly see what I mean.

Here's the deal - we need a new logo designing that is capable of being clearly visible at a number of resolutions and which will be appropriate to stay with us for several years in the future. I believe that the only way to do this is to insist on a VECTOR (i.e. NOT raster logo). The theme of this logo can be anything you like, as long as it is unique, simple, easy to recognize, and preferably somehow relates to the word 'biorust'.

To compete, please create your vector graphic and post an example to the User Gallery > Community Projects section. The actual vector can be in any format, although I would appreciate it if you would stick to standard Adobe formats... Photoshop pen paths are ok if you havent a copy of illustrator). I will choose the winner on the 1st July, ask for the source vector off the winner then, and integrate their design into Biorust extensively thereafter. The winner of the competition will also earn themselves +50 forum reputation points.

I´m currently working on a variation of just that idea, in a way. But do you want a text- or image-based logo, if you know what I mean?

Image based plz. Like all good logos I will be using it at a variety of sizes, & I don't think text will come across well at the smallest dimensions....

I noticed the other submissions are in B&W does that mean they should be in B&W or is colour okay too?

I'm having trouble with making them. I know exactly how to do what I want with rastor but when I try to do it in vector form.. So hard. But, I shall figure it out- Its half the fun to me!

Are you using Adobe Illustrator? It's a LOT easier using Illustrator for logos then Photoshop, however, I've never tried it.
