would appreciate any suggestions or critiques on it. I know I am missing some items for the site. So please comment.

Looks good so far. I like the blue colour - very restful.

thanks tamlin. I wanted to use a different color from what I had seen on other portfolio sites which implement the use of black alot. Black does work well on sites but I see it all the time.

I like the blue too. My only suggestion would be to indent all of your text in the white area of the home page so that it doesn't line up on the edge. Also, the text is a little small for me to read, but it could be my own settings.

I really like your portfolio though! Great work!

I'm with you, The blue is a nice colour, I'm not so sure about the subtle grunge effects you've added into the graphics, It mostly just makes me feel like my monitor is dirty, and sorta feels out of place with the rest of the design. The other textures work well though. All in all it's a nice clean design. One suggestion is to change the width of your paragraphs, people usually don't like reading lines over 12 words, I would 1/2 the width of your paragraphs and add more content like images, or graphics that are related to that particular page.
