Help..

I need help coming up with a font to use on this picture. I want it to say not all that glitters is gold. I already tried an ariel looking font in dark blue but it didn't blend well enough. Please suggest fonts that you think will work.

Also any suggestions on how to make the picture itself better are welcome

Have you tried using DaFont? It allows you to type sample text so you can see what it will look like when using your phrase.

Try some hand-writing styled elegant white font. Not too large. And try working a bit on the rightern side of her face.

My preference for type for your image would be something in a deep yellow with a sans serif typeface as a contrast to the blues and curves you have in your image, which is very nice btw.

Something classic, but maybe in a charcoal grey; also depending on what you are putting there- quote? signature? If a quote, maybe a rich yellow/gold. I'd also personally go with something classic, maybe a Garamond? Something understated, though something with a gothic flare might not be bad either, depending on what the text will be. Try all of it!

Hmm,
I think I would indeed use a classic font like "Moon Star", "Stonhenge" or maybe "Carolingia". Search for them on dafont, as I'm pretty sure I got them from there. And I would add sparkles behind and in front of the text, just little sparkles or maybe little stars(except for the Moon Star of course).

I wouldn't make the text gold or anything yellowish, maybe blue or light blue. Cause the line "not all that glitters is gold" doesn't look good in gold now does it? Anyway, I hope this helps a bit. I find it rather difficult to think for someone else....

Thanks for all the suggestions. I used Carolingia in the end. The real problem I am having is I don't want the text to take the focus off the eyes. I want the text as kind of an after thought so to speak. It may be too dark but tell me what you think of the new version.

I know you don't want the text to take away from the image but it is pretty dark. I think you should lighten it up just a bit.

[Idea]What about some type of ethereal/fairy-dusty effect near and around the writing?[/Idea]

I like the font you picked!
But I think that the text is too dark, and maybe a misplaced....Maybe if you type it like this:

Quote:
Not al that glitters,
is gold...
than you can put it at the left side of the eyes. Than the only problem is the darkness....maybe a bit lighter blue, but not blue than the eyes. That way the eyes should stand out a more than the text...

And maybe you can ad sparkles, I really like sparkles. Maybe around the eyes, to make them stand out more...!!xD

anyway good luck!

Just to be really picky and unhelpful, the correct quote is actually:
Quote:
"All that glisters is not gold."
It's spoken by the Prince of Morocco in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

PS: Nice pic, by the way. Does it actually need text ? I've never been a fan of type in images unless it's there for a purpose.

I'd agree with Tamlin, if the text isn't necessary the image is better without it... but, if it needs to be there try this...

Use the font you've chosen... i don't mind it. Set the fill to white and add a stroke that is a gradient based on the lightest blue and darkest blue in the eye... about 1-2px is all you'll need. Then add your text on a new layer, set the layer transparency to about 30-35%.

This will give you a ghostly white text with just a hint of the blue to actually draw attention to the eyes.

I took 2 minutes to demonstrate but sorry i did not have the font you used...

I also added some sparkles based on Unleash's suggestion.. but i did not want to alter the image of the girl...
