What did you use to make this - MS Paint?

You'll find most of the members here use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Illustrator or GIMP (which all have far more features than Paint). Potentially, you could use any image editing software, though. It depends on your skill.

If I was you,
I would go for GIMP, as it's free, photoshop is more used in the industry, but I guess that's not your target, now is it? Than I woul start with you color scheme's try to get colors that aren't as "bright" as these....And get yourself a background(just an gradient would do the job).

If you got these thing's realized, try to experiment with backgrounds/ colors compostion....you'll eventually figure it out!
