T-Shirt design

I'm working on a T-Shirt design for a nightclub that has live rock/heavy metal music. They've requested the obligatory Skull, so I rendered one in Bryce and added the rest in PS. It's heavy to the left but there will be some text or a small image on the lower right to balance.

All suggestions/comments welcome, good or bad.

It's not my kinda thing, but it looks great!!

Anyway, just an idea: you could make the edges of the paper a bit teared up, so that it looks very old....

Overall it's pretty great, but the Austin Texas part of the paper coming out of the eye socket isn't really working for me. Perhaps if the scroll could fold back out to the right instead of curling through the eye socket.

In truth a more balanced (relatively symetrical) design might be even stronger with what you've done here (which as I said is much better than just an "obligatory Skull")

As a rocker myself I think that it is amazing. I love the concept. I would move the Austin Texas down to the lower right corner where there is black space. That would make it more symetrical and make it look even better. Otherwise Great Job!

Agreed. If you brought the Austin Texas part down, somewhere at teeth height and made the flame a bit more central, that would beawesome and it would also help balance the picture

There will be the club logo to the lower right of the image, I'm hoping that will be enough to balance it.

The club manager thinks that the regional manager will think it's "too busy" so I need to make a "less busy" version of it. Might need to dump the fire.

Before you dump it copletely, try making it more... Mhh. Hard to explain my idea. Backgroundish? Kinda so that the scroll comes out more.

Hmm i would say scale the fire around the top down a little bit, just a little and a bit less busy. The skull and banners need to be the focus so they really need to be in the center.
Other than that, very heavy metal! i like it

I think it's more the banner than the fire that's making it "busy." Perhaps go to a more straight forward presentation of the type (or even drop the club name in behind the fire and let it interact with the fire a bit).

Overall, I like the design. I'm not too concerned about the balance right now because I don't know what the club logo looks like. Having the banner come through the eye socket doesn't quite work for me, but to each his own. The rest of what I have to say is pretty minor. The font works well for the "Live Room" text, but compressed for "Austin, Texas", I'm not too sure that it will be legible on a T-shirt. A font that doesn't have so many tails might work better. The other thought that I had is that it would be cool if the Live Room logo on the bottom left was rotated to flow with the banner. I don't know if you could do it or not, but it might be even better if the logo was only the color of the text...

Good points from everyone. I've attached the same image with the font the manager chose (bones). Still no word about the "too busy" business yet. Although, I need to cut it down even more now that they've decided on 2 colors only - white and ?. The fire in b&w looks more like a bad hair day than fire, so I might have to trash that idea and just stick with the banner.
No on likes the banner coming through the eye socket? Dang, I hoped it would be like the snake through the eye socket thing.
I'm having fun with this - I don't get to do much heavy metal work.

BTW, Chuggs - Erie's my old stompin' grounds.

nice. I really like the bones font better. Also I love the eye-socket thing. It would just be stupid if it wrapped around. It makes the image a little uneven but I like it. If you could just find something to put in the lower right corner it would make it 10 times better.
