The scanlines effect looks OK - maybe use a gradient mask to fade it towards the bottom on the poster - but you really need to use fewer fonts. Basic graphic design recommends that in most cases, the number of fonts within a piece should be limited to two (or three if a particular font is needed for emphasis). Of course, this isn't a hard-and-fast rule but if you intend to use a mixture of fonts you need to be skilled in selecting fonts that work well together to give the effect you desire.

I like the gradient mask idea, the lines do add to the piece, but they kind of make it a bit too har to read, especiall with nearly all of the type being light on a darker background.

Apart from the font issue, the alignment of the text throws things off a bit and is distracting. If you're going to justify everything left then you might was to stick to a common alignment of those items.

I like the background and feel of the piece though, simplify the font selection a little and maybe bump the text size down a bit and the poster would pop out that much more.

I agree with the comments made above... but i'd also like to add that i typically think of easter when i see purple/yellow/light blue together...

I would love to see this same piece with an Orange gradient instead of the purple...

I agree, the light purple just isn't doing it for me. I would make it a little darker. I think the purple in itself is a good color and the combination of colors is good but I would darken the purple a tad.

i changed it all around . plus some other changes. i used some online images and this is what i have... the club owner likes it so i guess its a wrap.. but u guyz think its a lil better?

Someone should probably advise you of the dangers of using copy protected material without permission.

In this case, you may not want to risk the infringment lawsuit by using Adult Movie Stars without the permission of their studio/agent.

Unless you got the photos of the models and the house from Stock photography sites, i would advise you to reconsider...

That said, the card does look really awesome!

I'm sure guys under the age of 21 will wonder why they are not allowed to attend! Sounds like a charter challenge to me... I'm even more certain that permitting underage girls into such a party is asking for trouble.. but that should be the event promoters problem...

I'm pretty sure those models are from Halloween costume websites ... but infringement is still an issue.

Something to consider: since the Halloween party isn't going to be on the 31st - the party date should be made more noticeable.

Just my own personal thing here, but the cop is stepping on the nurse's foot ... move the cop down or the nurse up a bit to give depth.

I didn't mind the purple on the first one (I thought of Dracula's cape) but I do like this version much better.

Is it me or did the club name change?

The date does get a little lost, the placement is fine, but you need to find a type treatment that will help it stand out. My only other comment is the orange border on the white type. I think it detracts and is a bit of an eye straing. try making it a black border instead (orange is a bit too light of a color and almost never works well as a border for white).

i understand about the images but its what they want.. i didnt choose for them.. they are business men so im sure they know whats up..
the images did come out of costume web. a friend of mine has an online store that sells such items so i stoled the images from her site.. then i called her and told her..lmao.. but she dont care.. if shes a porn star then idk who she is.. PAM?

and i did change the club name because the 1st club owner was fronting on me so i made it for my other friends club...

I assure you if you don't protect yourself and things aren't kosher, you and your lawyer will be sitting right next to your business men and their lawyers at an arbitration meeting...

I'm sure a club flyer isn't going to catch to much attention outside of the local area, but if you find yourself working on a bigger project, these concerns become critical...

I'll leave the girl/costume issue alone...
