You might think it is impossible to put two hours of work into a pen but i found out it is possible. this is probably the most realistic thing i have ever modelled. the textures and surface effects are spot on and smooth. the modelling is equally as good. Please give some c&c, I know the edges are a bit jaggie but my antanalasing features on relasoft have gone bust lol.

Hey, its the pen I nicked off a doctor last month! Give it back you cad! Seriously, though, this is some superb modelling - it almost feels like I can reach into my monitor and pluck the pen off the page.

Hehe, i got this pen for my exams, it is a parker gel ball point. it is a pretty sweet pen. I am very proud of this modelling on this one, the surface effects are great apart form the plastic looks abit fake.

You are right about the aliasing, and I think the transition between the two pen halves needs a little more detailing....something that makes it look like there really are two pen halves that screw together. Other than that, truelly a superb job. I am in awe of your abilities 5-0. The detailing on the pen clip and the pen cap are outstanding.

Thanks for the post lexiblue. You shouldn't be in awe over my graphic abilities. I probably practice more than everyone here put together. I do about three hours of work a night on some thing. I am in awe of all of your web designing skills that people have on these boards. Peoples sites here are truly incredible, you just have to look at biorust.

I have recently been thinking about stopping graphic design. My mind has gotten to this stage when i am starting to find graphic design a bit annoying. there is now a battle raging in my mind whether i should continue or not. After making this pen i guess i shall continue with graphic design but im still abit jumpy at the moment. maybe when i get to college and design full tim i might change my mind and become a graphic lover.

I hate to hear that you are thinking about giving it up. You definately have talent to work with and with all your successive postings, your work shows progress (which is where I usually begin to experience the annoyed feeling....when I feel I'm not progressing.)

So what will you do for your creative outlet if it isn't graphic design?

i will be in the design/creative industry for sure. I might end up being a fulltime concept designer or be involved in design which involves physics etc.

But i guess i am getting better and better at graphic design so i might as well carry on. The most annoying thing about graphic design is you can never judge yourself compared to another person, because barely any people i know are graphic designers. You shouldn't judge yourself by people who post on the internet it is just not the same. In other words i never really know how good i am but after a couple of years of practice i guess i shall make it to becoming a full time artist. The design industry is harder than people think. I remember when i first started graphic design i thought i was utterly brilliant, because my ego hadn't been destroyed.

cheers, im getting better at my texturing and modelling skills but i still need practice. I shall continue my quest in 3d, lol. I am definatly going to remake that car and get everything spot on, now that i have learn't some stuff.
