Online Photo Gallery

I've been meaning to get round to creating my own online Photo Gallery for some time, and this weekend I finally got my act together and did it. I'm still going to post my work at BioRUST because I value all the feedback I get here, but I just wanted an alternative location to post stuff in case I ever got tempted to flood the BioRUST Gallery.

The link is here: Mark's Photo Galleries

The galleries themselves were made in Lightroom and use Flash. I've tested them in Firefox and Internet Explorer (bleh! ) and they seem to function OK, but I've also provided HTML-only versions for those who don't like Flash or who like to get their surf on old skool:

Mark's Photo Galleries (Non-Flash)

Obviously there is a lot of crossover in content between these galleries and the stuff I've posted on BioRUST, but there are some images that are exclusive to each. Hope you like!

hey cool tamlin. It's nice to be able to see some more photo's of yours.

I was just wondering if there was a way you could add a back to categories button or something, I know I'm slow on any given day, but it took me a while to figure out I could only hit the back button on the browser to get back to the other categories, besides that. I like

thank you for sharing, your work is always admired and appreciated.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately that is an option that doesn't seem to be available in the Lightroom web gallery generator, which is why I went down the path of having each gallery open in a new window. I could certainly add a "Home" link to the HTML galleries, but the Flash ones are all neatly bundled-up into SWF files...and I'm certainly no Flash expert at the best of times. Thanks for the feedback anyway - I'll have a tinker around and see what I can come up with.

Tamlin, as you already may know I'm a big fan of your work, so this is certainly a treat for me. I've definitely added your site to my favorites.

The site looks great as well, everything is right nicely laid out, man.

On another note, why not list some of your items for sale?

Mmm...I have been thinking about it, but I don't know if I want the hassle. Maybe I'll think about it some more...

Wow darling I just love your gallery. You did a very good job on it. Looks gr8 & eazy to use.
What do you mean you do not want the hassel of selling your photos?
Oh and by the way what can you tell me about Normanby Hall?
I was wondering if you have any personal experience or feeling of the place.

Hi Red and thanks for the comments.

My comment about not wanting the hassle of selling my photos was because if I were to sell them myself I would have to go through the process of setting up a method of accepting payment, manufacturing the prints, packaging and posting them...I've done it before with CDs and eventually it just becomes a chore. The other option would be to sell them through some sort of an agency, although I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with that. One of my friends is always begging me to let him sell some of my prints on eBay, so I might consider that.

As regards Normanby Hall: as far as I know, it doesn't have a reputation for being haunted. It's just that after I did that experimental manipulation of one of the photos I took there, I thought "Ooh - spooky! This looks like a real 'haunted house'" - hence the title. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm sure there probably is a ghost of some sort there - after all, every English stately home should come supplied with at least one resident spectre!
