This is not so bad for a first attempt!
You should place them side by side in Photoshop and work some with the shading. I suggest a new layer and an airbrush. I know many try to use the burn tool for shading, but airbrush usually gives a better result.

Not bad at all for your first attempt. I have been at photoshop a year now, and I coulsn't paint it any better then you could, just keep working at things and in no time you'll get better.

Storm: the B&W photo is Arnold Schwarzenegger. hehe

Looks great to me,
I've been working with photoshop over 1,5 year now(not in the painting thing though). But I would like to be able to do so...

Just one tip, the head doesn't stop at the point where the hair begins.....I think you should paint the head off first and then put the hair on an other layer on top of it....savie?

Looks good for a start I would say.
I guess you're going to add some more shading to it?

yeah im definately going to add alot more shading especially to the body. The reason the body is so monotone is because i was having a hard time choosing the right colors for the skin so i kinda just painted it one color til i get what i want for mids lol.
