Talking Suggestions continues!!

Maybe some of you can remember, this topic (Suggestions)??

Well I've been working on the story fo a while, and when it's finished I will post it yes I will!!

Here is it so far,

Two species live on one planet, Humans and elderlings. The elderlings live in the woods and are unnoticed by the humans. The elderlings are like an outpost of their civilazation.....the heart of their civilization is hidden, and they can't find it. Then the humans are under the control of the templars....you know the Mines of king soloman, the freemasons....that stuff.

Well that's how far I am at the moment Not very far I know.
Here is an (space)vehicle from the human side. In a while I will be posting more from the elderlings too, but im working on the humans now.

To the one that helped me out with the elderlings(the suggestion thread) I will show you the base in the future...when it's completely finished.

All Ideas and critiques are more then welcome, as is al help with texturing!! Man I hate texturing!!

by the way, the image of the planet isn't mine(the space ships are) so the credit goes to the one from who this image is(I don't know who....)

hey unleashed, the renders are looking pretty slick

i am done my website now, and will be looking to do some 3d again soon and texturing is pretty much the next step in my process, so if you need some help i can help out some...although it's been years for me so i have to shake off some rust.

as for your story I know you aren't finished yet but here's a couple things to keep in mind. It seems like you described a setting and now that you know Who is involved and Where etc, i would come up with a plot to help structure the story, have actual specific characters that will intrigue us as an audience, etc...

you can check out FARP if you need some insight for writing, also if you are more serious about writing you can check out Story by robert Mckee, I have this book and i absolutely love it
Robert McKee's Story Seminar

anyways, renders are looking sweet, can't wait to see or read about the world you are coming up with

Tree's...?

well I was busie making my "elderling base" wicht interior has been seen by a few of you But the setting is in an giant forest....more an ancient forest.

But I have no clue on how to make tree's, are it textures? is it pure modeling? what, and how?

Any help would be really apriciated,

by the way im using maya 7.01, but the how to's are mostly universal aren't they?

well you have the option of using paint FX in maya, it's comes with maya unlimited...

and as a starting point there are preset "brushes" as they call them, which has default trees, clouds, plants, etc etc...

anyways, that's an option, another option is to model about 4-5 different kinda of trees, and texture them, up and then import them into your scene, but paint fx handles large forests relatively cheap (cheap as in processing power).

check the help files to see how to use these, etc...

if you need some more info, drop me a line, i'm busy tonite (valentines day ) but tomorrow or later this week i can show you some stuff if you need.

peace!
