Traditional 2D

'lo. I found my way 'ere through S2F on another forum. I do pretty much the entire range of graphic work excepting 3D modelling [though I still texture map]. Currently have been focusing my energies on traditional illustration and painting... so I thought I'd show a couple of my most recent works and seek any comments/suggestions and such.

Nice to find a small community with some people in it.

awesome work. i'm curious, what's that painting program you used for the guy?

btw, you should stick some of these in the archives, whatever you call them. so we can rate them

The defy gravity and books one look hand drawn, are they made to look like that or did you use a tablet?

I need a tablet heh... theyre only like $80 but I need some new skates (k2 natural wohoo)

The guy is being painted in openCanvas at the moment. Do you think anyone would mind if I did a huge image-dump of work into the gallery?

The books and defy gravity thing [truth is I was just too lazy to draw the chair] are done with pencils. The rest are digital using either Painter 7, Photoshop 7, or openCanvas -- I use them all so much I forget which I use, or if I used them all o_O

Not at all m8. You have 10mb storage space to play with immediately, and when I get Biorust v4 developed you'll be able to release your best work seperately as part of the site.

Joy to the world, school is finally over. I even got a 1600 on my SATs :]

I haven't been drawing on the computer much. Not sure why... digital media isn't feeling as natural as real media at the moment. Here are all that I found:
http://shockwire.bespin.org/display/stephenmaturin.jpg
http://shockwire.bespin.org/display/sdfsdfs.jpg
http://shockwire.bespin.org/display/inky.jpg
http://shockwire.bespin.org/display/thinga.jpg

The rest are ... eh ... either hideous doodles or private commissions. A scanner, a scanner, my kingdom for a scanner.

EDIT: Aha! And a random page of sketches I found in my C:\Temp folder:

Damn, I don't know where to start. Your pictures are AMAZING. Breath-taking lol.

Congrats on the SAT score. Perhaps you want to tutor me? I'm taking the SAT near year. Could you help me out?

My PSAT told me that I would be lucky to get even a 1000 on the SAT I did worse than you did, I remember.
