It is his own post though... Does that count for anything?

Amazing...! It looks like a sculpture (I suspect 3d modeling?). But it is detailed to a tee, well done!

...well I just lost my chance with EA, I was 1 day too late handing in my animation clips, oh well it'll give me a chance to finish my street
It should be about 1 more day to finish up the modeling of the wall stones on the right-side building, then I'll be texturing and fixing the lighting.
*updates to come shortly

yeah, there's always like a 100 applicants when it comes to large companies like EA sports, etc...
3d is a crazy industry to get into, I was just too slow in applying.
I applied when they already chose someone
oh well, time to keep building the portfolio

While I still have a lot to learn, I'm still waiting to see that subtle nuance show through. Another render with a less harsh BG would probably do the trick. You could always Photoshop some gradients in there for the BG. It seems as though you paid much attention to individual details (modeling as opposed to bump mapping), I don't think the simple lighting shows your efforts well enough. How about posting a wire-frame?
