First attempt without tutorial

Anyone have a simple challenge for me to test the skills I've learned with the house tutorial?

Here's the pill from the tutorial, and then the Salt Shaker challenge, done without tutorial aid.

heh, I know it's all simple stuff, but it's great to try learning it again, I didn't get past the simple cube in any other modelling program

lol yeah, 3d is so time consuming, I've been working on the same project for 2months now, and probably won't be done for another 2 months and it's just a simple street

anyways, just some advice... either work on the 3-point lighting, or change the color of your shader...the black on the shaker is kinda hard to see but the rest is all a very good start

all my stuff started off as simple cubes...then i go back and slowly add more and more details with every pass that i do on it... so no worries about the "simple stuff" it's always good to start simple.

ahh, well what i mean is you can just change the color of the material then...without having to add a shader to it...

i don't know how blender sets this up, but in most programs you can change that color pretty easily. anyways keep it up

Oh and you should try out every button the program has, just take a cube and push all the buttons and try out the effects!!
If you do so you will find very handy buttons I don't know if blender has them but the first two to look at are the booleans and the bevel buttons!!

PS. nice models, i think you should try to get a scene done....like some pils on a tube or something alike on a table....
