I think you need fewer swirls in the background - it looks too busy at the moment. The eye is drawn to them rather than to the text.

yea, there was too much white-space without them, I'll make a lighter version and a no-swirl version.

The "light swirl" version definitely looks better than the "no swirl" one (too plain), but I think the problem with the swirls is that their pattern is a bit too "formal", if you know what I mean, which seems at odds with the informality of the font. Maybe if you increased the size of the swirl or broke up the rigid pattern a bit? Something like the attached? (That's only very rough to give you an idea)

ok, made a couple of other ones that fit the more "informal" look, I agree that I like them more.

I think fewer swirls, that are larger works better...

I found the text hard to read (a bit) especially the email address... and you definately want people to be able to read that...

Also, hotmail addresses make it hard to take a company serious.

My 2cents.

Mike.

I like the larger lighter swirls. But I'd suggest increasing the size of the eye and making all the text that isn't the name of the company a little smaller and use the serif font like you had it in the last option.

Also, definitely add your name. If I'm a business I want to deal with a person, not a company name.

Just had a thought...

the email address is Theessenceofrain@hotmail.com ... I wonder if it would present better as TheEssenceOfRain@hotmail.com ...

I believe, but can't guarantee, that Hotmail e-mail's are no longer case sensitive.

It just makes it a little easier for someone to remember your email address if the can make sense of what it says....

Just a tip.

Mike.

P.S. Your last example looks good... for consistency, i might make the upper 2 swirls overlap the edge like the lower one... even if they have to be made larger...

Ok, followed up on the suggestions, changed the e-mail but it wont be the e-mail I use anyway.

Any suggestions for the e-mail? I may be stuck just using a second hotmail account for now, no money for a website which is why there isn't one on the business card.

Great! Looks Good...

i'd recommend getting eyenvisiongraphics.com if you're serious about it... the name will cost you about 6 or 7 dollars U.S.

Then you can have your email@eyenvisiongraphics.com

I think you can find free email hosting, but if you reserve your domain name, send me a Private Message... I can host email for you.

Mike.
