Exclamation Website Facelift - browser check

Hello!
I've just completed an update for the nightclub websites and would like anyone interested to view the site in their favorite browser, and let me know:
- how fast it loads in
- if all elements are compatible with your browser/platform
- if all elements appear to be where they should be
- any audio problems
- any glairing faults
- likes/dislikes
- etc.
The navigation is a little tricky but you get used to it.

* If any of you are regular clubbers, what features would you want to have on your favorite nightclub website?

Old Layout:
http://www.grahamcentralstationsanantonio.com

New Layout:
http://www.grahamcentralstationalbuquerque.com

Any and all opinions/comments are welcome!
Thanks,
Moods

The Adblock Plus extension in Firefox blocks the images in the middle of the page (possibly because they are in a subfolder called "banners").

The navigation can be a bit annoying.

I don't like sites that start playing music at you without asking, but maybe that's just me.

Otherwise, seems OK.

I agree with Tamlin 100% about sites that start playing music without asking...

Very rude!

I find the navigation interesting, but it got annoying after a bit.

Site looks good though! Lots going on!

Mike.

I despise music starting without asking me first. I am always either listening to my own music or a webcast of some sort and the interruption of some other music makes me very up set. I close the window immediately.

I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by unsolicited music, but at least Moods' site gives you the option to stop it. Those sites that play music without giving their visitors a "stop" button really burn my canoles! Instant click-away!!

Geez. I just openned these at work -- first thing I saw was something about pole dances. I'll look again later.

Hi!
I tested them with Safari 2.0.4 version and they open and worked well.
Navigation was cool, but as said in here it took a while for me too to notice it.
I also agree music comments. It should ask first.
The logos of these restaurants are quite colorful and that's maybe the reason the of your color choices, but I would minimize them use. Now all the web-safe colors are compete each other and that does make the result chaotic and hard for read to me.
Tree lower logos are still having black matte color even they are on red background.
Can't say anything about coding. I'm a novice in that area.
Otherwise it's a huge site and lot of fun there.

Thanks for your comments!

I don't particularly like sites that play music without asking, however the nightclub owners requested that the music start immediately. I may press the issue ... would those of you that responded mind if I quoted you in my next report?

I did say Nightclub ...

Tamlin, is the folder name (banners) the reason the Adblock Plus extention in Firefox blocks the images? I'm not familiar with this extention ... what other reasons would cause it to block the images?

The navigation ... if you stay between the red lines it works well. Yeah, I know it can be a bit annoying, but I like it, dammit!

Thanks everyone!

Ok maybe there was suppose to be an image in the middle when you firstopen the site? I didnt think of that when i looked at it earlier mama. I guess that does work for me either. let me check again in IE real quick. Ok oh also, rememberhow i was saying that there was a link box or invisble box over the navigation, only hwen you click it is when the navi starts to flow. i just figured it out. is there suppose to be a image in the middle of the page? let me know. i like it. the images to the right are those the other clubs you told me about?

as for the music i didnt realize until now. i saw it but didnt think anything of it. my speakers are always off until i turn them on of course.. the msuci can be annoying especially if you are at work and your speakers are on.. and boom then you get busted by the boss. but like i always say whatever the client asks is what the client recieves.

Yeah, I have no objection to you quoting me, either.

The Adblock problem: Adblock Plus, a Firefox extension, unobtrusively blocks ads (hence its name!) based on a customisable set of filters. One of the filters that comes with it is targetted at any object on a webpage that references a folder called "banners", because many ads store their images in folders with that name. As I said, this is customisable, so a visitor could choose to either turn off that particular filter or add your site to their "white list" in Adblock. However, that won't stop first-time visitors (using Firefox and Adblock) coming to your site and seeing a bunch of broken-image-link placeholders. Not a massive problem, but something I think you should be aware of.

I feel the same way, I absolutely refuse to visit a page that has music unless it has a way of letting me turn it off, a very clear way, even then its still a bit obnoxious and not what I would consider professional.

I have to differ with you on the 'not professional' aspect of audio on the website. You probably won't find a website for a blockbuster movie that doesn't instantly have music/sound fx, or a band website (musicians of all genres) or any entertainment site for that matter. It's very professional.
