Nice piccie. For some reason my brain started to play the dasboot music when I saw it though. I guess the scenery must remind me of a submarine movie in some way. odd, huh?

5-0, that last picture is not really realistic, since with the smooth terrain and with the snow reaching the water is not real, you can have ice in water, but snow is not possible, I do not think.. remember, I live in Southern California, the desert by the sea

Part of me wonders if it'd be possible to create a little battlescene or something by adding several vehicles into the mix (using a compositing tool of course). Or maybe i'm just playing too much UT2004 Onslaught?

it takes me about 30 minutes to perfect everything in the scene.
Oh yeah you can get plugins to export the landscapes to 3dsmax and other 3d apps so any thing is really possible even fight scenes.

Hey guys...
I've been playing around with this terragen thingy, and it is even easier to use than you say...
I've made this image in just 10 minutes (and 45 minutes rendering). This is all terra and no PS. I might do some details in PS if I get the time to do it, but I'm not sure. For now I'm just experimenting with it.
Check it out here
I've also made this one... same settings, different angle:

Nice work Marlboroman - the water looks virtually photorealistic, and for once the landscape doesn't look artificially rendered...
