New Band Logo!

Well as i have said in my intro im in a band and this is something ive used with the help of tutorials from this sight!

Unfortunately, the letters are hard to read due to the overall lighting. Too much texture in the background. The "TAF" aberviation, does it mean anything to the band? IMHO, it needs more color and more markeability. The logo has a very dark style. What is the genre of your band? Punk, Heavy Metal, etc.?

joedoh - if you want to upload any more images you might find it better to put them in the Gallery. There are no restrictions on file size there.

I would agree with shaggy to some extent - the lettering isn't particularly clear (although that may be due to the reduced file size). I don't have a problem with the background texture, but you could do something to make the lettering stand out more - maybe an Outer Glow or something?

Well it was my first time trying something on this scale, so i appologize for my n00bness

.

My band is a heavy metal band also, so i think it kind of suits the genre, but i agree about the lettering completley and everything else, i shall return with an update one very soon, thanks guys!

i personally like it. yeah the text is a bit hard to read but besides that its great! for a heavy metal band logo i think it fits in with the genre of music pretty well. also, do you have any place where ya'll have music uploaded like myspace or vampirefreaks? cuz if so i'd like to hear it.

Yeah, the letters are hard to read.. You might want to put hmm.. either fade the background a little bit or use a color to really bring out the words.. or calm down on the texture. Since your background is dark your letters should be of a little more lighter side.. ill check out the myspace also..

add a 2 px white stroke or black around the lettering the glow techique is depended on too much and not all art work need it. At hip hop sites i've caught artist using the glow method and I hate it!!! it's over rated the stroke is clean and smooth!!

I think the logo is great and suits the metal genre but the text is definately hard to read...

the drop shadow conflicts with the lighting effect but of course there are no rules...

You may get away with tweaking the contrast slightly.... this would let you maintain the tonality without adding a stroke to the font
