[3d clock]: concept design
just been very hard at work with my latest creation. I decided to try and make a realistic clock. I am doing very well so far. I rushed the texturing abit though but the shape is near perfect. I might go back and redo some bits just so i can be even more satisfied with it.

It looks neat but it isn't 3D. The buttons are too flat, and ... there are jaggies. Otherwise I like it.

cheers dude, they wernt really meant to be buttons they were more like just screen imprints but hey, i'l go away and change that.
I will now go away and render it in a much higher anti-aniliasing setting thank you.

Its a nice model 5-0. As S2F says, though, the jaggies are very noticable. Oh, and i don't think it would be too stable with the bezel at that angle from the base - its usually a bit deeper. Or maybe thats just the angle of the render? Sometimes its very hard to tell...
BTW, I have some key-graphics from the keyboard I recently used for the Voxpro project. You are quite welcome to them if you like - just drop me a MSG.

well i just gt rid of all the jaggies. i also started to texture the clock as well. Its looking far nicer. I also corrected the icon problem on the buttons. It looks ,much cleaner now. I will continue to work on this one. If you see a problem just tell me in this thread. I want to get this thing perfect.

OoOOOh, looking much better! Now just add a more realistic glass shine to the cover over the main LCD, and some minor details on the back-plane, and you'll be onto a winner!

Thanks alot dude,
i shall continue to improve this as much as i can. Yeah i agree the LCD does need to be abit more shiny, but the joy is this will be an animated clock so the time will be able to change. If i can find a tutorial on action scripting for realsoft

Whoa, way too transparent. I can see the wood grains through the clock. Is that intentional? Also, there's a shadow going every direction. żo.O?

If there was some brushed alumimum desk or granite counter-top it might look pretty neat. Also, the left two squares on the clock seem crooked. I just noticed that, is that me?
