Hornet Versus...?
I've never attempted a battle before, but the board looked so empty I had to do something to fill it up! Plus, Me = bored. So why not.
I only have Photoshop 7, and I'd prefer abstracts, as I don't have a graphics tablet or anything of that ilk. If anyone wants a friendly match, drop a post.
Rules (cadged from Yuneek's post):
Not fussed as to the size - whatever whoever wants.
Photoshop Only
No stocks
3 rounds
No themes
Fire away!

Sorted.
My abstracts are rather unique in that I rarely put those strange lines everywhere, unless I blur the hell out of the background first. I find that they tend to distract the veiwer from the abstract itself.
What version of Photoshop do you have?

Vector lines are supposed to enhance the piece. If you look at the Organitech post in 2D/3D Artwork you'll see what I mean. Look at r4z0r's work.
Heh, I 'might' throw something in here for fun. But I won't be in the competition per say.

They can be good if used properly, but most artwork I've seen that uses them is slaughtered by them. They're best with 3D works, as Razor demonstrates so effectively. I do use them sometimes, but I do so in moderation.
Anyway, where's 5-0 got to with his entry?

A brand awareness card, no less. I rather like it! I'm useless at airbrushing (I only have a mouse, which doesn't help), but I've never really tried to improve on it for that exact reason.
I'll rattle something up over the weekend, although hosting it somewhere may be an issue, depending on the size. I'll try and do something similar for Garjen, which is a website I'm redeveloping.

Don't write me off that quickly - I don't have Internet access over the weekend. My entry is attatched - not as good as I'd hoped, but that's the trouble with abstracts.
Something a friend asked me yesterday: what actually defines abstract? For example, I would say that this (I chose it at random) was abstract, although my friend argued that it wasn't. Some other opinions please?

Good job with yours hornet, the colours are nice and lush.
But i'll have to disagree with you about L I T H, i don't think it's abstract.
