Red face New to using shapes

I have an easy one for all of you. I need to know how someone created these shapes. I am taking a course but need to learn the simple tasks of photoshop, I've only used it for photos really. If someone could please explain to me how the teacher got these shapes to come together the way that she did, I would be very happy. I believe it will be the only way that i'll "get it", to know what was done here for her creation. I'm already past this part of the course, but still would like to know just how she got her shapes to look like this. I'll keep trying to get it identical, but it's going to drive me nutty, until I know. Thank you!

lynda, you will not like what I have to say. Those creations were created using some of the very basic vector creation techniques. I could give you step-by-step directions so you could duplicate exactly, but then you would have gained nothing. Learning Photoshop does require a little reading and loads of practice.

Listed below are numerous links that you should check-out, the first one is BioRUST. There are several that cover almost exactly, the thumbnails you have attached to your log.

Good luck, you can do it!!!!

Oh on the contrary, I love what you have to say because I know that these are basic shapes. I am happy that you found a few different tutorials for me to follow than I have. I am well aware how stupid it seems that I am asking this question, but it just seems to me that the first shape might have been brought in as.... like corel has the power clip to bring in another design or maybe she did something else that simple because the one custom shape I see, but hers is much thinner.. I am aware of the path tools, etc.. I use them when I have to but not real well.. so I just was wondering if I was missing something easier yet.. does that make sense? I will go through the tutorials that you sent me and I am very thankful! because like I said, I'm well aware that this is basic, and that's why just that first basic shape bothers me.. I don't know if I've made any sense here or not!.. Maybe just reading into things to much.. LOL
