i would try to make a complete banner for the top, the banner you have now looks unfinished and i didn't see it at first, you should make a banner that is has green as base color i think. And i would move the ad from google to the bottom of your site.
besides of that the site looks really cool.

I fixed the header part. How does it look now?

It looks pretty good, but you seem to have some styling bugs. They are visible in Opera 9 (both Mac and Windows). Not sure what would cause them though. It only seems to be the top items that are bugged, the lower (about half) seem to be fine.

I'll second GoldNetX - the design is nice, bright and (most importantly) easy to read without resorting to 'information overload'. There is a formatting error in Opera 9 though. It only seems to appear when the groove count is in its single digits though. Oh, and you may want to find some way of segmenting each entry, as it can get very confusing as you go down the page (it leaves you wondering which 'groove' link connects to which tutorial!).

I like the first layout. I would work more on the shadowing though.
