Something is missing...

Yesterday a friend of mine asked me to do her a signature. So i played around for a bit in Photoshop, and i came up with this:

Prototype 1.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...-signature.jpg

Prototype 2. (with a more plain bg.)
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...signature2.jpg

I dont know, it just feels like something is missing...

constructive criticism is of course welcome. Just tell me everything, Whats good? Whats bad? Terrible? and maybe what i could do to inprove it.

The background needs something to break it up a bit. I'm not sure if it's too uniform or if it needs a contrast to it. You could try adding a lightning strike or maybe just a white border to break things up a bit like this:

I like the colors and simplicity of it.

Hmm i dont know about the lightning strike... in my own opinion it would just look weird, regarding the fact that it is a grunge signature. But the border idea might work.

Indeed it needs some filling.... but with what? i guess the main focus should be on the render. right? so the filling cant be "to" eye catching.
So what kind of filling did you have in mind?

Thx for the fast replies, keep em comming

I like the first one too, but I would blur the background to bring the image of the girl, or boy more to the front. It seems to me that you have lots of color behind your main image (the girl, or boy) Try using the blur tool....
