TheCubed Portfolio

Ok, check this out:
I've redesigned my website with CSS and a PHP template engine.

http://thecubed.com

Please let me know what you think of it

Thanks for your time!

P.S. : What's funny is that every time I post on Biorust, my Google rank for thecubed goes down because Biorust has a higher rank than I do in the scheme of things, so when someone searches for thecubed on Google, you get Biorust. I dunno, but I just think it's funny - in a good way :haha:

technique i guess it's basic but it works fairly well!

Too bad I don't really like the design... think of advancing your "logo" which is now basically plain text with a blending option. I miss some details...
But for it's purpose it's very good You don't need an advanced high-level photoshop site for this goal.

I agree with nauzer, your logo should change, maybe some sort of 3d thing, like a 3d cube, and maybe put some blue tones in your layout

Thumbs up

Yup, i agree with aldog. Maybe even better idea would be to add a roating cube which you could make in flash...with a actionscript. Otherwise the site looks cool

btw what are the ages of people who make things in photoshop here...?

i'm 13

I think you'll find a massive range of ages here. I'm 27... but I know of two active members who are in their 50's... and even one who is 85! Most are 18-35 though.

Alas not - I comissioned a commercial artist to draw a full-sized picture of my character... of which my avatar is just a small thumbnail. Wish I could draw properly though....

Neither can I.....most of the time I get images then edit them rather than creating new ones.

In that case I must say it's exactly the same for me... I have Wacom Graphire 3 but I hardly ever use the thingy...
dunno why but it's just more difficult than on paper...

I was kinda going for the minimalist approach, plain+simple, considering that I am moving from doing photoshop to more of a HTML/PHP/SQL job.
Just so you know, I'm only 16, so I don't have an official 'job', but people in the Gilroy/San Jose area can hire me to do computer work - take a look at http://thecubed.com/?services
to see what I offer -- but I only work in a face-to-face kind of way.

I just seem to have lost my photoshop touch... everything that I make is very minimalist... oh well.

I like the spinning cube idea, but I _hate_ flash.
I did some simple fading of images for a friend of mine,
(see http://ettare.net )
and that took hours, and I could never figure out why it did what it did (does that even make sense??)
It would sometimes tween an image from another layer, even though I didn't have it selected. Oh well...

I appreciate the comments on my website very much

Thanks!
