Runboard

http://www.runboard.com/

The site that I'm designing this for.

The design so far, about 35%.

What I so blatantly copied unintentionally.

it doesnt look too much like macromedia to me. If i say its a copy of anything, it look more like a copy of the silver colour of the Luna visual style (the default XP style).

It's kinda hard to give C+C at this point, there isnt much there. Remember, for a site like that, how the content looks will make or break the site.

Well, I scrapped that last design. Just didn't see it going anywhere. I however, present you with:

http://innocentinsanity.initialhost..../RunboardE.png

Sure to rockzorz j00r bockzorz. I plan on adding four(?) content boxes on the bottom and leave the top blank. Not sure a lot of things up in the air at present time. On a side-note, I've found out that nothing displays complex gradients quite like .png, however, the size is huge. I'll have to rectify that somehow if this is ever implemented.

Must admit the design is really clean and simple.. looks decent, however on the second one, your issue is going to be content.

... Eh? The first one isn't a bad layout. Looks pretty cool. The second one looks like a nice splash. I don't really see a layout in that. I suggest using it as a splash and the first one as a layout.

Looks okay but I still don't really like the idea of it being a layout.

Splash pages are useless.

Splash pages can give a good impression of your site. It makes people want to enter the site and browse around.

I dunno, splash pages have there places, and can be cool... but "splash pages make people want to enter your site" i dunno about that, cuz if you dont have one, they'll already be in your site!

Personally, I like it when I see a splash.. if it is nice. But that's just me.

The only place I like to see a splash is if it is

a. flash
b. not plain
c. if it is needed

I use splash pages only if I need to set up cookies, or handle data before the site will work.

http://www.shadowness.com

Doesn't that make you want to enter the site? Oh, if you refresh a different splash appears. There's like 2-3.

Same thing.
