Hello all I am new to webpage design actually I kind of got hijacked into becoming the webmaster for this site and I redesigned it trying to control the clutter. It is considerable better than it was but it still seems cluttered to me would appreiciate any and all suggestions on it.

Hey buddy,
You need to change the Background to some colors like white.. or colors that are not contrastic... yellow is more contrastic. Remove those music clips they annoy some ppl and takes time to load. Use tables and CSS in your site. Look at the site that I created using tables and other stuff, Zebra Clinical research services. Sharpen your skills in Photoshop and Dreamweaver, as these two tools are the ones commonly used. I drew the layout of the site and sliced it in Photoshop, then imported it into dreamweaver. I used tables for the content and borders (fixed cells for the borders and resizable cells for the content). If you need any help please feel free to ask me... i'm ready to help you, I'm a newbie like you, this is just the third site that I've designed. The experience and practice is the key.

That is a good first try, but like Creativity says please change that yellow, it just does not work. If you are absolutely stuck on yellow for something, try making the background white and the text yellow with black strokes or shadows.

One of the best investments I made was purchasing a HOW Design Book called "Colorindex". It contains over 1100 color combinations for both print and Web Media. Sometimes there are so many color choices I just go "duh". Give the book a looks see, you can buy a used one from Amazon.com for around $2.00. Keep playing with your website, you'll get there.---bedlam123

I have recently gone back to my personal website and have started looking at ways of improving it, besides finding a new host for it but that is a horse of a different color.

Please take a look at the following and perhaps throw out some suggestions as I have been using Frontpage 2003 but have just started messing around with Dreamweaver.

This is the site: http://pages.cthome.net/firecapt/index.html

When you browse the internet one of the first things you might notice is very few have simple white backgrounds. The eye searches for contrast on a page (beyond the text) and will become weary quickly if there is nothing but a white background to focus your attention. My first suggestion would be to do something similar to what Biorust has; patterned background with info on separate layer above background.

Dreamweaver is a great layout program and the improvements over the past 3 years have pretty much centered on design improvements.

Good luck! Beginning a new website is a daunting task!---bedlam123
