the first one looks alright to me, nothing too special but not bad either. the second one doesn't look that great in my opinion, do you have links to the stock photos?

for the first one I used the photo used in the tutorial
I know the photo from deviantart

hey the first one would look pretty cool if you'd kept the eye there and added a few effects to it. maybe make the iris red or something. Could add a scar to the face too.
