Thanks to everyone for all of the awesome comments. I think I finally have this layout for the most part finished. I have to upload some more content but that is about it. Check it out here:

Maybe one more thing that might solidify the design mabye would be to mess with the icon text. It seems a bit out of place to me as far as the font, size, and positioning. But ultimately it is your site so...

But yeah as said before your concept and over all design get a 10 from me. Simple and Elegant. I love it.
