architecture renders

I havn't done any 3d in a hell of a long time, so I thought i'd try it again.

I did this scene with Blender and yafray.

I really didn't model anything. I used boolean to cut objects etc. I got the modelling on this one done pretty quickly. I have spent about one hour and a half on it so far.

Render is really crappy but shows how much I have. I shall probably envmap it and texture it. I need to fix the floor, make some interior stairs and add a few bits and peices.

Looks pretty cool. It actually looks like some type of business complex ... or a prison! Nice work either way.

Thanks for the replies.

I just tweaked the building so it looks more beleivable.

I'm now creating the scene for it. Alpha mapped grass is for pussies. I have used a script to generate extremely long grass.

This building is going to be an abondened research facility lol.

Looking pretty good so far. I can't wait to see it textured. I would play around with that script and maybe make the grass denser and of varied height cos at the moment it looks a little unrealistic. Your site's looking great by the way nice clean design and some great stuff in your portfolio. The shoe design is pretty awsome you need to write us some illustrator tutorials!

Thanks for the words about my site as well. Yeah the grass shall be alot more denser, but it takes so bloody long to render. I shall keep tweaking it. I like the length because it isn't going to be some clean cut enviroment. Its going to be some grubby **** hole. Thanks for your kind word.

Yeah Order, it may be the biorust research facility for Yuneek, Loki and Ahmedtheking.

That or a "research" (torture) lap for those aforementioned people.. but I will never tell..

Looks great, the render is awsome, throw some texture on that puppy.

Oh I agree that the grass should be long. I was just saying that some should be different heights to give it that random look that nature has.

It somehow reminds me of a cross between a level in UT2003 CTF, and the rooftop battle arena in Killer Instinct 64! Not that thats a bad thing - I think it a combination of the two styles would be uber-cool!
