Talking www.subound.com Version 2

Hello everyone well i have released version 2 and overall people do like it so please let me know what you think of it. The only page that doesnt include flash is summer and eventually illl make a banner for that .

www.subound.com

as for the sounds of the banners i took the rain and thunder of the song riders on the storm - The doors and i found a huge bird mp3 and took some bird noises off of that , (i used cool edit pro)

Enjoy!

A nice little idea! You could perhaps dispense with the introduction screen and put the options in a menu of your main interface tho (the selection could be saved in a cookie). New visitors could perhaps automatically receive the selection that reflects the current month? Just an idea, like...

I would suggest this, as this is one common problem with most "trendy" designs:

It is too thin.. everything is crunched together and tight.. it is a navigation nightmare! Which do you think is more acceptable to a visitor: to squint and hope they hit the right link or to be able to move around the site easily.

Look at biorust, as you can see, the navigation and most of the content is spread out, and looks a lot better.

Well, most prople who visit Biorust use a resolution of 1024x768... but I design in 800x600 for good measure. Just remember that the actual usable dimensions (i.e. the dimensions in the browser) will be lower than that due to taskbars, etc. I used to know a link that told you what pixel dimensions were available to you in each browser at different resolutions... but the webby vinished last year... :/

Always develop for 800x600, if you make your design reasonably flexible, it will work in all the browsers.

That is just the usable space to use.. you can ignore the 600 for the most part, but your design should not be wider then 800, I usually use 760-780 for a good look, allows some gutter room so the design is not cramped.

That link is broken. Maybe you know this?.. but we don't .

I'd have to agree with Order on the whole 'too skinny' thing. Although if the font is to small for me (or anyone for this matter) you can press the ctr key and scroll up and down with your mouse wheel. (Not sure how you can do this if you don't have that type of mouse, but if anyone knows, please let me know.)

Other then that, I absolutely love it. The whole nature thing is what I love (one of the reasons why BioRust is so appealing to me ), and someday, I hope to make one of my own.

Keep up the good work! And keep us informed on more concepts/versions !
