A good start - kinda anime, but with a western comic-book twinge to it. I look forwards to seeing how it progresses m8!

Thanks for the feedback everybody. The character is drawn in manga deformed which basicaly means in total she measures up 4 heads. I've now put her into front and side views for modeling and left out the hair to make it easier to model the head.

Ok, well I've started to rough in the boots (I normaly start from the foot and work my way up.) I think I'll post quite a lot of screenshots from now just to give you an idea of my workflow and hopefully give some people an idea of how they could start modeling a character in 3d . If you look at the attachment you'll see how I'm doing so far. I've applied subdivision to the object and iterations is on two (don't worry if you don't understand it just means I've applied smoothing.) All I have left to do is add more detail in the red circled area so i can pull that down and a little bit of tweaking on the foot a back of the lower leg.
