Camara Lab Test Results

I had just got a newsletter talking about the inaccuracy of the ISO readings for many cameras and it pointed to a link with the results... its kinda neat. They analyze many different aspects of many cameras and made nice Flash interactive charts to show the results. Check it out here.

I was happy to see my D200 is pretty darn close when it came to ISO response. Some aren't so close which is not a real bad thing... just gotta learn to compensate for it

Hey, they didn't test mine! My dad's looks pretty good, though.

My dad just got himself a good deal on a Canon EOS450D with standard lens and 75 - 300mm lens and a 8gb card and a bag for £500 which i thought was a good deal.
His didnt score too bad so i think he made a good choice.
But he only uses it as a beginner going back to photography now that hes retired.

really in the big picture (no pun intended though it does fit nicely)... even if your camera had bad ratings... you just learn to compensate for some of it

In my first reply i said he got a standard lens but it wasnt it was a 18 - 75mm and also he got fifty pound cash back from canon.
At the moment he is just getting use to it but ive shown him that information and he will have a play about and see what he can learn.
Keeps him quiet, until i have to show him how to download them and print them.

Wolly, I take it your father is a bit technically challenged? Its good that you are helping him out. Maybe after he is more comfortable with the camera... you can teach him to handle the download/printing next... or sign him up here and teach him how to use the gallery and upload too

you could say that synthetic , hes just getting use to sending emails so i dont want to confuse him just yet.
you should see him with the remotes for the tv,vcr, dvd and cable.
funniest he ever did was put a dvd in and asked me to get rid of the subtitles that were in english as the speach in the movie was french, he said he was trying for ages and couldnt, when i saw the clip the movie was english but the scene was of some guys in french foreign legion so it was subtitled in english, confused him totally.

lol... that almost had me confused until I read it again... that is kinda funny though. I remember my grandfather and his cell phone... he knew how to answer it and how to call but... never could figure out how to get his voice messages I left for him or how to use the contact list and luckily he never used DVD, CD, VCR and only had to deal with changing channels and volume which he could handle well.
