I've been a Minolta user since I was a child. I've got 15+ years using nothing but Minolta.
But the time has come for me to part, and I'm selling off all my Minolta gear, save for my Maxxum 7 and one lens. So if anyone's in the market, PM me.

That being said, I've sold it all off to move to the Olympus 4/3 system.
I picked up a DMC-L1, along with a backup body, a telephoto, and a Carl Zeiss 50mm Planar for Contax that I'm adapting to the camera.
And I LOVE IT.
I'm a big randfinder geek anyway, so this camera is spectacular.

Hi All

I have a Nikon D70s. I love it, it seems most people here have Cannons.

I use an un-branded camera, (well, it has a brand, just not a known one) and I would NEVER use anything different.

So long as you frame the shot right in the first place and know how the healing brush works, you can't go too far wrong, I think.

I use a Nikon D1X for everything I can. I also have cheaper, ancient Nikon consumer model that drives me up the wall, because it's 8 years old, the size of a large-ish paperback, and it is only 2 megapixel. Enough about that one. The D1x rocks, though. Everything I have posted here was taken with it. My favorite lens is the Nikkor 28-105mm. Unfortunately, it is my dad's (as is all of the glass I use, due to my lack of funds), and it is discontinued and unreplaced, so I will have a hard time finding one for myself.

I have been a Nikon fan since my little 2mp Coolpix 2500. Considering the motorcycle crash that the 2500 was in... the hit it took seen by the crack in its case and the fact it still worked good plus the articles I keep reading praising Nikon lenses was enough to keep me in Nikon family. Now using a D40 that I hope to upgrade in a year to maybe a D60... course I lust after a D3 or even D300 but just can't justify the cost as a hobbyist.

Im currently using a Nikon D80 and a Sony Alpha A100K. I used cheaper cameras with great results, so I do think that the talent of the photographer will make a picture, but surely a good cam/lens helps.

True, the only thing that limits the quality of the photo is the imagination of the photographer!

I have a Canon Rebel XT and a kodak easy share. I lent the kodak to my sons girlfriend at the time and let my neice use my Canon and kodak when we went on photoshoots as Girl time. No matter which camera the girls used I could tell each ones style and signature view points which were always better than mine in my view. the wonderful thing about that is that my photography skills improved considerably apon viewing their photos especially if we were together during the shoot. Being inspired by the photographs taken here has made major improvements also. You can learn to take good pictures but some people just seem to have the most amazing eye for the perfect angle, use of light or composition. I am a prime example that having a more expensive camera does not make the better photographer. sure can't hurt the really good ones though! but mostly practice and willing to learn have given me the more rewarding shots.
