Thierry Henry - Manipulated

Here is a picture im working on, Its still a work in progress and may change a little. The backdrop is a photo I took at the Emirates Stadium. Thierry was added in photoshop (obviously lol) and was manually cut out from a background. I then added a layer effect to give the shadow he is casting on the stadium. The original photo was take in RAW on a canon SLR and then reduced to mono after selecting the badge and inverting the selection. A bit of channel mixing also went on. Hope you like it! comments welcome. Thanks all.

Here are a few variations, The first has had a "glow" applied to Thierry, The second has a halftone type background and the third has a canvas filter applied to the background....

its like it, theres something bugging me about the composition tho. The background would look great on its own but i guess that kinda defeats the point :P maybe try changing the perspective of the background photo so its more front on, that way it wouldn't look like the stadium is bending away from henry. i'd also move it left slightly. you could maybe try lowering the opacity of the background a bit as well?

nice work anyway

I of course have the background on its own as its one of my shots but I wanted to add something... Ill have a play with it... Been working adding a futuristic "retro" look to it... Ill upload those soon, thanks for the comments!

Have you tried putting the gentleman on the other side of the photo and showing more of the logo. I can't quite make out what the logo is. Otherwise, I like the canvas background the best.

Nice picture and good idea. I think the perspective is right I just wouldnt apply the canvas filter or anything to it. I think you have got it right on the first one and would make a nice background (if you were an arsenal fan!!!)

just happened to be browsing today and happened by.
all shots do look great to me, my favorite is the first one tho. the only thing i would consider changing is the placement of the shadow: is it just me or is the sun above him on his left and putting his chin shadow on his right and is the same sun casting his shadow behind him and to his left?
maybe its just me. but i would put his shadow a wee lower and on the other side.
